Alessandro Bertani was awarded a master’s degree in electronic engineering in 1995.
After work experience in various research & development centers he joined CESI, a world leader in consulting and engineering services to electricity utilities, electrical industries as well as to global manufacturers of electromechanical components and automation devices.
He is now director of the “Smart Grids” unit, which is CESI’s consulting department providing services in supervision, management and control of the entire electrical infrastructure, from digital meters at customer’s premises to the systems located in high voltage electrical stations.
He has been personally involved in several projects worldwide aimed at supporting governments, electricity authorities and utilities in defining roadmaps for the development of smart grids in their own countries.
He has also published more than 100 technical papers which were presented in international workshops and conferences.
He is the Italian member of Cigrè study committee “Information Systems and Telecommunications for Power Systems”.
