Dr.–Ing. Ali Inan holds MSc and PhD degrees in electrical engineering.

After his dissertation at the Technical University of Munich, he first joined Siemens in Erlangen, Germany. He was responsible for the development of the first digital distance relay and subsequently for the market introduction of digital substation control systems.

Later he took the responsibility for the engineering of meters and metering systems in Switzerland and Germany working lately in an industry leading company for meter data management.

Having joined EFR GmbH, a company operating Broadcast Messaging Systems and providing affordable smart grid and metering solutions, his focus is the international deployment of Smart Grid applications.

His expertise areas comprise energy & distribution management, metering, liberalized energy markets, communication solutions and energy data management.
