Dr. Cathy Yao Chen received her Ph.D. in Power System Automation from Beijing Jiaotong University, China, in 2008. In July 2008 she joined ABB Corporate Research China, where she took different roles as group manager, senior principal scientist, etc. From Aug 2015 she joined ABB Corporate Research Sweden as Department Manager of Electrical Systems. Her activities target the field of power conversion and system integration technology for renewable generation, impact analysis and mitigation solutions for accommodating electrical vehicles into distribution network, the application of power electronics technology in conventional power plant for efficiency and reliability improvement, etc.
